July Goals Recap & New August Tasks

1 Aug

July’s Goals

  1. Patch holes & paint in the living room – Done!
  2. Purchase curtains for the living room – Done!
  3. Get rid of the couch – Done!
  4. Go on a date with my husband – Done!
  5. Set up the soon-to-be completed TV area in the living room – Almost. We still need to have a friend come and install an outlet.
  6. Purchase a tree for the front yard – Done! It’s a Royal Empress Tree and is currently very, very small.

All in all, July was a great month for goals, especially given we were in Wisconsin for two weeks and it’s a wonder we were able to accomplish anything.

August’s Goals

  1. Set up the TV in the living room
  2. Go on a date with my husband
  3. Find a lamp for the living room
  4. Purchase & place doors for the living room cabinets
  5. Paint the dining room chairs
  6. Mulch both the front and back gardens
  7. Call Nintendo and inquire about getting a replacement Wii Fit disc to replace the one the dog ate
  8. Use the new grill at least twice
  9. Book a mini-vacation to San Francisco
  10. Find a coffee table for the living room

August just might kill me.  Today is the only day this month I don’t have something planned.  Which is kinda scary, but the good news is, most of things happening on the weekends this month are really, really exciting.  Like getting see a friend from way back in the day who I haven’t seen in over a decade (SO. EXCITED.). And getting to show off my house to my mother-in-law (I’m trying very hard to look at this as a good thing, not a heartattack-inducing thing). And maybe even going up to Ocean City, MD for a weekend.  So while it’s a full month, it’s going to be a good month.  I just have to keep reminding myself to breathe and not get too overwhelmed.

Your Mother-in-law will probably have fun stories to share about her first home, and getting it fixed up.

    Your August sounds neat.

Have you thought about hiring someone to clean for you and the hubs?

oo I met up with a friend I hadn’t seen since before we were teenagers earlier in the year. She’s married, had her 1yr old son with her, and at the time was about 5 months preggers with her second.

I think it’s always a little scary when childhood friends have babies. Makes me feel so old.

A fellow 101er and I created an online community for those doing the 101 in 1001 challenge. Day Zero List Makers is a place where you can share your goals, meet other day zero project participants, and offer support/encouragement/general thoughts and ideas through the forums. You can also start or join a group, upload photos or videos, and participate in our (monthly?) blog award contest.

Hope you check it out 🙂
