And now let’s all move on to something different and more comfortable

“If winter is slumber and spring is birth, and summer is life, then autumn rounds out to be reflection. It’s a time of year when the leaves are down and the harvest is in and the perennials are gone. Mother Earth just closed up the drapes on another year and it’s time to reflect on what’s come before.” –Mitchell Burgess

Summer was fun.  Mostly. I went to the beach. Saw some friends get married. Went to Wisconsin for two weeks. Went to San Francisco. Worked, a lot. And now, I’m ready for fall.  Summer was nice and all, but it was hot and sticky and sweaty and there were a lot of mosquitoes that bit my forehead and left my face all welty and so really, I’m just over it.

Let’s move on to fall, shall we? Let’s all marvel at the changing leaves (COME ON LEAVES! CHANGE!) and the cooler weather and the crispness in the air (GET CRISP, AIR!). Let’s wear jackets and scarves and hats and fall stuff. Let’s drink hot chocolate and tea and sit outside under a blanket. Let’s carve some pumpkins and throw candy at the hoodlums across the street and hope they don’t shoot us.

Seriously. What the hell is wrong with me? I usually dread the holiday season, yet here I am. All sorts of anxious for Halloween. And Thanksgiving. And Christmas.

Apparently, while no one was looking, my mind up and LEFT.
