‘Tis the Season for Chewing on Conifers

16 Dec

We started this holiday season off right with a real, live, absolutely gorgeous Christmas tree.  I don’t remember what kind it is.  It doesn’t really matter.  We got it at the local farmer’s market and it makes the house smell all delicious and like December and it’s absolutely WONDERFUL.  We may never put up the fake tree again.

I’m not alone in my love for the tree.  The dog, SadieButt, loves the tree as well.  When we brought it in the house she wouldn’t stop sniffing it.  She was OBSESSED.  And then we put it up, which was WAY easier than I expected, and she spent a ridiculous amount of time sniffing around and kept coming over to check on us with pine needs stuck to her forehead.

And then we trimmed it a little bit to get rid of some scraggly bits and Dog snatched up the tree bits and made them hers.  HERS, DAMMIT!

I honestly don’t know why we spend money on toys for her.  She’s totally happy with a piece of Christmas tree and bits of paper.

wallypup is the same. he goes mental for the hose, we don’t have a single bit of foliage anywhere in our backyard… bark is his favourite though. nothing beats a chunk of bark that’s fallen off the palm trees. He always seems to get them first thing in the morning though, and I have to chase him around at 6:30am to get the bark off him so he doesn’t hurt himself when he’s unsupervised.
    gosh. dogs. *shakeshead*

Lol, I love that your husband commented.

We don’t have our dog anymore (SOB), but our baby is the exact same way! Dublin would rather chew Stephen’s combat boots than any of the “fancy” teether toys we’ve bought him. Dublin’s Christmas gifts can be tupperware.
